Does the Huffington Post exploit its bloggers?

  1. those arguing that the huffpo free bloggers didn’t add much value may have a point. Nate Silver, the onetime self-employed political blogger now working under the banner of the NYT, takes that line. Nate did some traffic analysis to argue that the bloggers were never the main attraction of huffpo. I guess you can still argue they were ‘exploited’ in that they helped build up the brand and then were unceremoniously dumped, but they could have self-published their own blogs for nothing. Arguably the reason they didn’t is that Huffpo gave them a better readership.
